People appear in a kaleidoscope of colors, shapes, and sizes, yet we are all part of the family of humankind – a single species, sharing the earth as our home. It is my prayer that we can transcend patterns of global conflict, celebrate cultural differences, and recognize all human beings as our brothers and sisters.
Using human bodies in my artwork, I notice and value the inherent prior unity of humankind. Even people who come from widely different cultures have the same basic features, expressed in unique configurations of the wonderful structure of bone, muscle, tissue, and spirit that forms the landscape of a human body. My heart sees that we are all part of one interrelated human community. I aspire to bring this reality into my artwork.
